Network help needed for onboard network

Help needed with a networking issue. On my boat I have the following installed to monitor engines and systems:

    Thinkpad laptop T430i

    Connected by wireless to:

    Teltonikia RUT955 4G Router. http://www.teltonika.lt/?media_dl=4782

    Connected with CAT5 cable to:

Alba Combi device for gathering engine, voltage, etc data. http://www.albacombi.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/usermanual-albacombi_v5_1.pdf

Normally the Thinkpad connects to the router perfectly. To connect successfully to the Alba Combi I need to change the network setting. DHCP off and set IP address to one in the same range as the Alba Combi. This works but leaves the laptop not internet connected. Part of the original strategy was that I could log into the laptop remotely for monitoring purposes is this is not ideal. Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

    Many thanks in advance!

Why not change the ip address of the combi to be in the same range as that dished out by your router?

The default configuration is DHCP server disabled and IP address 192.168.0.50.
    This is the key bit.

Either change the Router to use the Albas subnet or vice versa. Both appear to be configurable (as they should be).

Then you can connect the Alba to the router and always have access over wifi.
