Does anyone know is it possible to repair a turbocharger?

Dealer says he will replace (expensive) but does not repair.

You can if they're not too bad - but they do really high RPM ....... 50,000+

So you need the gear to balance them

Try here n a few more places

Are you going to a main dealer?

Hasn't been a Saab main dealer for a number of years Colm.
OP is it petrol or diesel? New turbo can be sourced from Neo Brothers in the UK. They bought up all the stock from dealers when Saab went bang. It will be expensive. Best value for money is a guaranteed reconditioned one or sell it as is.

I know, the garage I worked in had a Saab franchise before they disappeared :)
What I mean to ask is if the OP is going to a main dealer (sales/service/parts etc) vs going to a repair garage which is often a good bit cheaper.

    It's petrol.

I'll try Neo Brothers and Assuredperformance.

It's a 2007 car, have had it since new. Don't want to sell as I'd probably get only about 2K for,it and it's worth a lot more than that to me. Really like the car. Only 130K km on it so plenty of life left in it.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
