Really depends!! As a man I don't like it, if your a young woman never, if you're an older lady maybe

Yes it's dressy enough as long as you accessorise it well!

Great to get a male perspective. I'm 42 and have to hide bits of me!!!

Thanks for reply. Any suggestions re dressing up the outfit?

Depends on the wedding. If it's a small, intimate wedding in a restaurant or garden party then yes. If it's a big to-do then I wouldn't think so.

Personally I think it's a bit curtain-y but could be lovely on. A friend of mine who is the same age bought this https://www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productID=0217-5532-9045L00&productvarid=0217-5532-9045L00-KINGFISHER-MUL-12&refpage=dresses
and it's amazing on. I tried it on (still lots of baby weight to lose) and it's very flattering.

I think it's dressy enough for wedding, not to my taste but quite nice .

As a man I think it's a bit frumpy...does age matter when dressing for a wedding..probably to an extent but I don't think any lady should avoid clothes because of her age..

In light of the expert opinions of Boardies, I have scrapped original frumpy dress. Bought this in sale today:

    Opinions pleaseeee

No offence but glad you ditched the first one. It was a bit frumpy. I'd lose the brown (if that's the colour) belt on the new one. Otherwise it's lovely. Enjoy the wedding.

I think the first one is lovely. It's unique and has a lovely freshness and elegance to it, but still a bit whimsical. With the right accessories I think it could be knockout. You'd have to see it on thoughto be sure.

I'm actually not as crazy on the second dress. It's very nice and definitely more standard wedding attire.

I agree with this. I don't wear florals but first dress is very much on trend. The second one is nice but something that was done to death by Ted Baker, it's Chinese copies and Oasis.

    What accessories would you suggest?

Right now I'm thinking a pair of heeled pumps in light mint/green, maybe cream bag. Hair up in semi formal style.

For me white, light blue or pale yellow barley there sandals would work too. Because dress is fairly covered I think you can go for a bit less on your feet.

    I like this clutch:

Afraid I agree with the verdict that dress #1 was a bit mumsy. The second one is lovely! Much more summery and festive.
I'd add a shrug or furry wrap for shoulders and a happy gold bag.
OR some big rose-coloured beads and bangle, and shoes. And lipstick!

(Young wans like the model in the pic can get away with nude lips and feet. We wiserwomen look better with a bit of colour, imo)

Will def have a shrug for church. Was thinking rose gold shoes as there is gold in the dress. Any suggestions re hairstyle - I always go curly and it looks great but other options?

I think it's cool for me...take care of you hair and accessories, make them elegant + graceful.

Both dresses are lovely to me :)
The back of the first dress is fresh and flowy, adore (so much) the slit sleeves!
The second dress is vibrant and I'd venture to say you get more compliments in it.

(That being said... I'm not in-the-know about fashion, as I prefer tailored menswear... but I am sure you will look entirely lovely in whatever you wear!)

Loose curls would be my option for semi-formal.

An up-do (to me) is bride territory, unless you do a loose up-do (tho, do you run the risk of appearing too informal?... unless you have  perfect hair).

I would wear my hair however I feel most comfortable and confident. Which, lol, generally means a straight flip, like this :o (suitable for a business meeting  maybe).
