Canon 6D or 6D mark II

I've been shooting with a Nikon D5100 for the past 4 years.
Exclusively portraiture, with the kit lens, and a 4 light flash kit and backdrop.
Got the D5100 for 400 euro so it doesn't owe me a penny.

Have made enough money from my hobby to upgrade to something a bit better.
From reading about I like the Canon 6D.
I think I can get a second hand one (<10k shutter) for about 1000 euro.
And start building a lens collection from there, probably starting with the 50mm 1.8 STM.

Anyway, I see the 6D mark II is due out shortly.
And I'm thinking the 6D might drop in price because of that.
    What do you guys think?
Is the 6D the camera to go for (for my portraiture needs) and/or should I hold off for another month or two to see how the dust settles with price with the new 6D mark II coming out?
    Thanks

The 6D is an excellent FF option and you're correct, prices should fall considerably now and make it a very good option. I used one before I upgraded and was very happy with it. I would just say that if the move is from crop to FF then consider an 85mm instead of a 50mm as your go to portrait lens.

6D is a great camera for the price, I'd say it's worth getting the MK II for the dual pixel AF because the 6D AF is a little lacklustre. That being said, as a current 6D owner, I'm probably going to skip the upgrade and go for a 5D MKIV provided nothing comes of canon's mirrorless offering next year.

    Dum question here.
As some of you know I am in the process of buying a new camera ( namely 6D )
Just a quick one on the chance that the 6d MK2 is out soon enough and is within price range.

Does anyone know from redaing about the 6d Mk2, would it be as good or better than what the 6d is?
    Thanks

Hit up google, the 2 is announced. Theres loads of sites and forums discussing the spec. It looks very decent. Dublin camera stores are taking pre orders. As far as I know, theres no actual reviews yet and only sample images are released by canon. Cant imagine it will be long til reviews start.

Edit, its 2500 euros in Ireland

Lot of money, But I would be hoping to buy from Eglobal.
I did notice Canon Ireland mention 27th July.
    Thanks for the reply.

2,500 euro probably for just the body, with no kits lens.
    Thats a lot.
