Cartmel 4:20 - See Double You a horse I've been following since forever now. Ran 2m 4f last time out and was the first horse off the bridle and looked like it would be tailed off and pulled up, yet it rallied and plugged on to finish 3rd. Down 5lbs from that run and stepped up in trip which looks like it badly needs, I think it has a decent chance at winning today and the booking of Johnson isn't for nothing. Horse has a whole pile of entries over the next week, so it's fairly clearly that the trainer thinks he has this as fit as he can get it. Going for glory on this, 7/1 win only.

Going to try ATTENTION SEEKER 2.50 Carmel who is returning from a long absence from the sticks. Has had a run on the flat earlier in the month so hopefully that will have blown the cobwebs off. The last class 4 he ran in he won by 23L off 108. Runs off 112 today and jockey takes 7lbs off. Trainer is 3-5 with hurdlers at the track last 5 years. Obviously fitness is a concern but with the fav now running off its highest ever mark I think it's worth a modest play

Had this one on my shortlist and wasn't sure if I would back it or not but with Hugo Palmer just after winning the last race there at Yarmouth it now makes it 3 wins in a row so yard looks like it is back in form. He runs AFANDEM at Newcastle tonight 7.00 where he has a decent strike rate of 3-8 with 3yr olds and the horse itself is 3-6 over this distance and drops down to h'cap company from group class. The fav won this race last year but is 19lbs higher this year and at current odds of around 14/1 I think it looks generous

My direction 750 curragh e/w not a bad price on previous form might be good enough to claim a place.
