Exhaust started sounding like a boy racer on Sunday. Called into Advance yesterday as just happened to be passing and easier to then calling out to the Mechanic.

Its an 08 Impreza 1.5 AWD and that was for a back box and middle pipe and did not include labour :rolleyes:

i did not get a chance to look under it as had the kids with me. I presume to days of getting a cheap wield is gone.

Last time an exhaust went on me was in the 90's on a corsa :pac::pac::pac:

Sweet mother of Christ. Last time I got an exhaust done (now granted it was a knackered clio) it cost me 180 quid. 2k sounds way out of wack to me.

They don't want the work.

A lot of these big chain places like Advance, Modern Tyres, etc have big clients on account like the ESB, Haulage companies, Delivery companies. IE they look after fleets. They don't want their time wasted looking after individuals.

€2000 is insane!

Have a look at micksgarage and ebay to find out how much the backbox & middle pipe is - I had a quick look and <€200 is achievable on the part alone.
