Some parts of a outfarm have areas with mares tail. How do you get rid of it. Anyone with experience in dealing with it.(successfully eradicated the problem)

Land is rundown and soon to be ploughed limed ect.

Is it definitely mares tail?? Pic attached

    Looks like horsetail ok.
Be nice to do something before ploughing as it will spread allot.

Because of the very waxy leaves it's awfully hard to kill. There are specific chemicals out there for it, Pearl is one I heard of recently although I'm not sure if it's available south of the bkrder.

I had a dose of it along my lane and at the road, I sprayed with a mixture of Grazon90 & mcpa and it cleared it in one spray. Also if it's in open ground it would benifet from rolling first to nreak the stems to absorb the spray better

Will it die in silage or spread out again in surry?
    Is it poisonous to cattle?

    That's marestail alright.
    CleanSweep WILL kill it.
Just don't put it on the long finger. It'll spread!
There's a road out by me that's riddled with it. It was sprayed with RoundUp but it didn't kill the marestail.
I'll take a pic of it later if I remember.
