NIR on-train catering

A couple of weeks ago, I was on the 1010 Belfast - Portrush, there was a catering trolley on board until Coleraine, operated by an attendant wearing Enterprise uniform.
I had thought on-board catering was distant history on internal NIR trains.

Does anybody have more information on this matter?

    It's not widespread.

A limited trolley service on the line was re-introduced around 2007 and became more common a few years ago with full CAF operation.

It is operated by CCS who operated the service on the Enterprise and rotates between those staff - hence the same uniform.

Is there any schedule of which trains carry trolleys ? on which days, and is it seasonal?

You would think if they were going to do a trolley service, their longest non-Dublin service, Belfast-Derry would have one it is 2 hours long

That's what the OP was on. They transferred at Coleraine

No, it isn't an advertised service as not guaranteed as staff may be required for the Enterprise. Not sure which trains but think it operates all year round.

This is the problem. I had refreshments in Belfast Central before boarding, so did not need the trolley, however nobody would depend on it if it is not guaranteed.

The day I was on it, the attendant walked through the train pulling the trolley, looking over her shoulder at where she was going, rather than looking at the passengers to see if they wanted something. She seemed the most disinterested catering attendant, but if nobody expects the service and therefore don't buy anything, I could understand her lack of enthusiasm.

She was probably just setting up
That's a common mistake Enterprise passengers make.
The trolley first goes from the Diner car all the way to the back and goes FORWARD, does not take orders on the way down, people think she's skipping them.

This was not the Enterprise, it was an NIR 3 car CAF railcar set. She pulled it backwards each direction.

Yes, the title of the thread clued me in to the idea of it not being the enterprise
I was just suggesting that since they're the same staff they may use the same procedure.
