Whirlpool washing machine - door won't lock

    Hi,
    I have a whirlpool awo 7361 washing machine. Outbid the blue it won't start - door won't lock so it doesn't start. door locked light won't come on.

    My wife pulled out the powder unit by mistake and since then the problem occurred.

    I've tried unplugging, pressing start/pause button for a few seconds etc.

    I phoned whirlpool but they were no no help . machine is out of warranty. Any ideas or need to get someone in?

    Pa,
    The PCB (module) on these are very 'finnicky' and its highly possible that its blown. Just select a spin only program,close the door and press tightly against it with your hand, and press start. See if it locks.
    The doorlocks on these give little or no problems but its worth a try.
    Just because you have lights doesn't mean the PCB is not blown.!!

    P.S. the wife/powder tray episode has nothing to do with this problem.
