Extraction v root canal v implant

Upper right molar 'needs' a root canal.

    a) What is the issue if I just chose an extraction... no-one will see the gap?
    b) If I choose a root canal, do I 'need' a crown? From what I've been reading a root canaled tooth is prone to fracture and so until a crown is put on it, I shouldn't eat on that tooth. So pointless getting a rootcanal without a crown really...
    c) Root canal with crown v implant.... which is likely to last longer? Which is more expensive.

Thanks in advance. Anyone with recommendations for specialists north or south that will do root canals & implants, please pm.

Movement of teeth either side of the gap into the space. Can lead to problems..

Crown highly recommended for molar and premolar teeth due to weakened tooth structure and risk of fracture. Need a very compelling reason not to crown those teeth.

I think that it is worth retaining natural teeth when appropriate. If rct was an option then I would consider it before extraction.

Thanks Fishorsealant. How soon would the crown need to go on? (compelling reason not to do it is financial!). What about an extraction now and implant in 6 months time or so ? (when finances are likely to be a little healthier).
