Are there any alternatives to flying to Luton from Dublin apart from Ryanair, I don't have a passport so I can't go with them.

Or, how difficult is it (in early morning 8/9am) to get from one of the other London airports to Luton.

    Thanks

Had to do it once in a taxi due to unforeseen rail engineering works. In short, it was a nightmare. M25 is more often than not a car park.

If bus/rail is an option it may be feasible to fly to one of the London airports but the cost differential on flight could be more than the cost of a passport

Heathrow to Luton is around an hour by bus
Gatwick to Luton is more like two hours
Stanstead to Luton is 80-90 mins

There is a train connection between Gatwick and Luton, if that helps

    Nice one,

I'm not exactly a frequent flier, how long should I expect to clear customs and get to the trains,

No customs (yet) so get off the plane then you have to catch a shuttle bus to the train station maybe 30 mins but this is with hand luggage if you got to check bags id say an hour.

Why not travel up to Belfast and fly on EasyJet direct into Luton, there is several buses to Belfast International Airport. You could then travel on a driving licence or expired passport (within last 5 years), Belfast to Luton would be classed as a UK Internal flight which has less strenous ID requirements.

Overland travel would be cheaper and less hassle from Ireland to Belfast than trying to navigate around London via Public transport etc.
