    Hi.

Hi I am looking at buying floor insulation and came across wood fibre floor indulation. Any one got opinion on it. It is half the price. Has anyone tried it. Does it meet the required specs.

    Thanks

    What's your spec?

I asked my engineer what it was . He said that he would have to come back to me. I said if I use 150mm insulation would it be sufficient. I was told it was. Just waiting for him to come back with spec

This is pointless until we get the floor spec..

I'd assume at 150mm were talking about PIR insulation (kingspan et al) are you installing Under floor heating?

Timber insulation will not have the same psi value as say PIR or even EPS

It's not typically something that's used in a floor unless it's part of a suspended timber system

if you want a cheaper insulation install EPS (this will be be thicker build up than PIR.

If you want a low embodied energy insulation research the likes of 'leca'
