I Have an Asus U50F. The cooling fan comes on when its booting up & then stops.

I checked the connection & took out the fan to clean it. The fan is definitely working. It just not turning on then the laptop gets hot.

Any ideas how to fix ?

    Many thanks :-)

laptop fans only come on when the CPU reaches a certain temperature. Hot for one person may not be hot for another.

The only sure way is to run a temperature monitoring tool:

    There's:

SpeedFan (this can also change your fan speed, if your laptop supports that feature).

    or

    HWMonitor
