    Can anyone advice please?

Is there any good way to not pass M4 tall plaza while traveling to from Edenderry to Lucan on regular basis?

On Google Maps, if you set the start and the destination, click Options and check to avoid tolls.

This result came up for me.

From Dublin, take exit of M4 for Kilcock/Clane.
    Take 3rd exit (signposted Enfield).
At next roundabout (about 8-10 mins, straight road) take 1st exit, this is the ring road around Enfield.
At the lights take a left and just stay on that for about 15mins. It'll take you through Johnstown Bridge, Kilshanroe & right into Edenderry.

A colleague who lives in rural Offaly told me he was looking out for a secondary school for his son but he ruled out Edenderry because it has a reputation as a rough town.

based on one of the routes above, you're looking at 90km a day - should be under a tenner in petrol or diesel, so €200 a month per car, for that commute.

My brother drives that way and buses often use the route as it's the old n6/4

Maybe not rough but a bit depressed...:D

It cant be that bad....the most fit kids are in Edenderry. There is lots of good primary school, which we need.

I heard about much more worst places.

Will try to be happy there anyway.

You also have the option of the BusEireann 120 route if you didn't want to use the car, it takes about an hour to reach Lucan from Edenderry.
