I have bought from them before a few times. I thought they were pretty well known.

They are safe enough to use, as safe as most Chinese sites.

I also paid for shipping Aliexpress standard shipping, as it is only €1.63 and will improve the shipping time.

Does that include a power supply or not? It's not clear on the site.

All you need to power the board is a micro usb cable.

Wrong. You need a psu that delivers 5V, 2.5A and a cable that can carry that.

I guess its not included, based on your reply

It is not included in any of them unless it specifically states.
A micro USB cable is sufficient with a USB plug. But if you are planning any specific projects or builds, then maybe get an 'official' PSU. As some issues (very few) have been tracked to a faulty power.
I have never had an issue using branded chargers and cables. I honestly think you would have to be very unlucky to get a faulty or bad one, unless you just bought a random generic very cheap one.
Amazon also sell them if you do not have a Samsung, Sony etc. spare.

They make really great Arcade Emulators - but beside from this - what else can you do with them? Really interested in finding a new use for mine I bought a while back.

I doubt they would be sufficiently good anymore as video players compared to the dedicated purpose cheap and complete android fire sticks etc.

    Requires code RPMM549
You must also be logged in to your account, otherwise the code will not work.

It may be subject to VAT and handling.
If it does get stopped, it falls just outside of the €6 negligible at €6.90, I guess it depends on the mood of the customs officer and whether or not shipping is marked.
    Shipping is tracked 7 - 30 days.

Pulled the trigger on this. I bought the original pi, made a light on it blink and never looked at it again. This will be different.....

How long is delivery with this crowd? Are we talking in the range of a month, similar to other Chinese sellers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,739 ✭✭✭scamalert

got two Pis when the deal was running with arrow, to say the least im like most never put it to any good use, load rasbian ,make server, create remote access, mess with ssh connection and terminal and get bored.

thou if one is able to use port forwarding on their router id google free domain names .gz or similar and with that its quite easy to setup simple own web page,or remote connection for home automation.

if having few spare parts- speakers , microphone worth to take a look at putting amazon alexa on it,if running out of ideas.

I'm looking for a Pi3 (but not in any rush) if anyone wants to offload one

I much prefer my rp3 to an android box when it comes to kodi. CEC is much more reliable so can use TV remote for everything. Plus android is more suited to touchscreens so can be a bit clunky on a TV. I realise mightn't suit everybody as even with openelec there's a certain amount of geekery involved especially during the initial setup. I have a 1tb USB powered hdd which works fine with the official psu
