WTD - cheap road bike 54/56 ish

I'm living abroad but spending but want to buy a cheapish roadbike to have something to take out when I'm home. It will be only used 6/7 times per year so I'm only looking at spending 250 / 300ish.

I'm looking at a Carrera Zelos in Halfords for 264€ - but don't really fancy this. If someone has something they bought and never used, or something older with better components I'm sure it would be nicer than Halford's cheapest.

I usually ride a size 54 but I'm 5'10 so can have a bit of flexibility on size.

It will be a bit tricky logistically I must admit - I can get someone South East based to possibly collect in the next few weeks, otherwise I'll try to figure out a way.

I have an older (about 2011 I think) specialized allez with 10 speed 105 that I used as a second bike, but I recently picked up a trek on donedeal relegating the above to third. Has a few marks/scrapes but perfectly good and functional.
54cm alu frame, carbon forks, aksiums wheels.
In kilkenny but abroad until next week.
You can have it in that budget if it suits. Welcome to try for a while. Just a shame not to have it used.

Thank you - that might work. I will get in touch once I know when I'm around again (might be a month or so - so please don't hold it for me).

Buzwaldo just coming back to you on this, do you have a couple of photos by any chance?

Is it ready to use, with pedals etc?

Just seeing this now. Have just one pic ( with mudguards, not included) on the phone. Will be Tuesday before I get more. If you want PM number and i can discuss tomorrow evening.
What kind of pedals do you use?
    Good to go.

    Hi CGNS
Sorry, will have to withdraw availability of this one. My second lad, who has shown very little interest in cycling to date, sat up on this yesterday evening and took to it quite well - will grow into it in a year or so, and has told me not to sell it. Sorry.

One last shot on this before I go to the minefields of adverts and donedeal - anyone have anything they are looking to get rid of around Waterford in the next week? Budget only stretches to about 300

I'm looking to move on my Cube Aerial (2012 model). I can stick up some pictures later, daily rider, but serviced and new gatorskins put on a couple of weeks ago.

Would certainly consider that if you could stick up a photo or two and details (mainly size and group)

    Also on size I'm 5'11 and fits me, it's a M/L

Thanks - this is what I am looking for but just as I posted yesterday my brother text to say he thinks he has something held for me (incidentally also a Cube) - so please don't hold for me. I can tell you for certain on Monday.

In the event I take it, where are you based and how much would you want for it?

I'm in South Dublin, but can sort out getting it down to waterford.

Given there's 2 week old Gatorskins on it at 50 quid each, I'd really be looking for about €275.

I'll also need to keep the pedals, but can put on cage pedals.

    Let me know

    Heli

I may also have something in the next week or two - waiting on a few new bits for a 56 Cube Peleton Pro. If the others fall through then let me know.

I'll probably end up bringing Heli's bike down for you if you buy it anyway

    A very underrated bike: http://www.adverts.ie/road-bikes/bianchi-alloy-pro-full-ultegra/13525151

I've been a Bianchi fan since I started serious road biking (>20yrs ago now, I still have the '97 Ti Megatube); I've got a 57cm M Alloy Pro and can't bring myself to sell it. I've got nicer bikes, a steel Colnago and a Litespeed Catalyst, but I frequently keep going back to the "entry level" Bianchi.
