Water leak

    Hi all,

    I got water trikling in coming up from under door frame -its from a leaking pipe outside where irish water put meter in

    Anything I can get to stop water coming up through floor

    fill some bottles etc from kitchen sign and then turn off the stopcock that they put in, it will help if leak is on your side of the stopcock, and then conserve water till its fixed

    Normally a meter is installed outside your boundary wall, not near your door frame. They may have repaired a previous leak but generally if leak is your side of meter, then it's your responsibility.

    Irish water have a repair first leak for free policy. This is from the meter to the front door. They don't repair leaks under the hall/kitchen etc. Your regular plumber looks after inside the house

    Wonder if this is still the case given that domestic water charges have been postponed or abolished or whatever, I've forgotten at this stage what the decision was.

    It's still the case. It's part of the FF deal on water agreed only a few months ago.
