Say person A is accused of a crime. There are witnesses to the crime. Person A is included in a photo lineup. Person A is not identitfied as the person who carried out the crime.
3 months later, the police contact the witness and meet with him at Person A's hometown.
The police identify Person A as he leaves his home and ask the witness was Person A in the original police line up. Even though he was, the witness says he was not and the police go to the judge and ask to run another line up.
    Is this legal?

Judges have no role in authorising a Garda lineup.

So the police can have as many lineups as they like?
