GPS running watch for training plans

    I am starting mz marathon training plan this week, my dilemna is the plan is that during a run, the paces chance constantly up and down.  I was just looking what are the best watches out there where you can manually programme the watches to tell you to change the pace to a certain level and also tell you when you are drifting off that pace etc

    Can watches be programmed to do this with every individual run?

    BeepBeep answered the question, but I think a better answer is to just not do that. Watches with pace information are good for feedback, but you should learn how to run by feel and effort first rather than staying within the zones of some pre-planned paces. In general I think you're better off getting pace feedback in regular intervals (once a mile or whatever), GPS watches just aren't consistently great at calculating pace at any moment in time, but they'll get it mostly right over longer distances.
