Quickest route from Sligo to Belfast.. Train or bus, can't drive yet! Bringing a few people. I don't mind if it's not a direct route. But the one that least time :) thanks

Bus Eireann route 458 from Sligo to Enniskillen, and then Ulsterbus Goldline route 261 from Enniskillen to Belfast.

Use the National Journey Planner at www.a-b.ie (it covers the entire island).

This is throwing up options that are much longer and also the timetable from Enniskillen to Belfast is completely wrong.

OP, the Bus Eireann journey planner shows the shortest bus option as four and a half hours via Enniskillen, including a 50 minute wait there for the Ulsterbus connection. That's leaving Sligo at 11 45 on a weekday. I didn't check if there was an earlier option but the later ones shown are much longer as they appear to go via Dublin. If you were going to do that you'd be better off getting the train but would have to check the connections. Even if they worked out it would be a lot longer than bus via Enniskillen and probably a lot more expensive.

Probably not a problem - you just need to take a reasonably direct route - sometimes this may be via Letterkenny. Confirm this with the bus operator.

I've done Enniskillen to Belfast and back for a weekend before.

Just mind the way back, there's big differences in journey time depending on which bus from Belfast you take. It's a pretty nice service though.

    Definitely a busman's holiday.
