bought an opc astra there last week with a superchip remap done to the car with a fair few dyno print outs of it making 270bp.
my question has anyone else have theres remapped and if so what kind of problems have they encountered, im getting an intermitting service light on the dash (car with spanner) i noticed that there was a wire broken into the sensor on the intercooler piping going to the throttle body. I plugged the car in and realised afterwards stupidly that the engine light had been blanked. have a few codes there just wondering does anyone know what codes would be normal to be present in the car after a remap, also the MAP sensor is disconnected ive been told it has been mapped out of the car but i dont know where to start looking to solve this service light as i dont know what trouble codes would be normal or if there shouldnt be any, the car seems to be running ok but sometimes feels as if its misfiring very slightly, car drives grand no issues really great power, only issue that i know 100% it has is the bearings in the gear box, also any suggestions on what bearings to get would be great, was thinking of getting bigger uprated bearing with a bigger casing. anyone ever have any these issues?

Service light might reset like this, it will only be counting down from when it was last reset and won't reflect any issue on the car causing problems now...

Not really sure where you need to go with this, perhaps the easiest solution would be if it could be remapped back to factory settings. As the car currently stands it won't pass the NCT with the engine management light not functioning.

I was thinking about it but It literally just went through the nct with no engine light and I knowof many others that went through with engine light blanked think it's only and lights and stuff? light is after going back off the car now after i drove it about 10km tired to get a hold of the crowd that remapped it and ask what the story is but cant get through to them

I know if the engine light is on with a petrol car it's not a fail, I thought if it wasn't functioning and visible on ignition it would fail. Looks like it won't, no mention of it for petrol cars in NCT manual. Do you think they blanked it by taking out the bulb or covering in black tape or some other method?

Do you know if there was any modifications to the exhaust system or engine besides the remapping? If there are trying to remap back to factory spec might cause more issues.

yeah it's has a full magnaflow exhaust system but still has the 2 cats in the car, has a front mount intercooler not to sure if anything internal was done has ebc drilled grooved discs and few more bits

Shouldn't be any codes present after a proper remap, unless the cat on the exhaust system is a bit below par. Did you get it sorted?
I've never heard of anyone doing a MAP delete on these. Removal of the rear BCS is more usual.

Timken are the bearing of choice on these. You could opt for the 6th gear from the diesel box if you're doing a lot of motorway cruising while the box is apart.

got a hold of the person who mapped it he was ok holidays so just waiting on the actual lad who done the work yo ring me to see what the story is sorted a few of the problems but I think the MAP sensor is broken so someone blanked the blank so gonna take apart the dash see what's the sus with the light and I ordered a updated bearing kit with bigger bearings and a bigger casing so hoepfully won't got again was only rebuilt in 2014 so I'm guessing the boxes don't last very long

Yeah, M32 boxes aren't known to be robust. You'll want to change the gear oil every 30,000km with a 75W90 fully synthetic.
Upload a pic of the pipe and I can give you a part number to get one from Opel, or myself or one of the OPC lads on the Viber group probably have one spare since fitting a front mount intercooler.

cheers lad yeah was thinking that gonna service it every 5ooo and gear oil ever 10000km taking no chances 😂 yeah I've a front mount intercooler on mine and it's small silcone hose on the passager side of the intercooler then the one at the top of the radiator is rubbing a hole in the side of it because someone didn't secure it properly

Standard pipework won't look quite right in there so. Any idea what brand the intercooler is?
I can add your to the OPC Viber group if you've the app installed. You'd have to PM me a number is all. Easy to upload pics on there.
