Crowd funded project. This is a pre-order for a product still in development and shipping is not due until some time next year. No thanks.

The final prototype has has been tested, I don't see where it's crowdfunded and it's being made by the same manufacturer as dyson.

Yeah but what's the payback periods on $1200 by growing my own parsley in this thing, including for the cost of running it!

Depending on the plant about a 12 week payback time, parsley might take a wee bit longer.

There a million miles from the seedo, be fine for Parsley http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/indoor-gardening/indoor-growing-cultivators/

It's easy make a hydro or aquaponics system, €50 would go a long way.

It's a lot of money for a tiny amount of space. The lock is a bit silly given that it's a recognisable item & the lock just confirms that there is something "dodgy" inside.

Early adopters sometime win, get bleeding edge tech and can flip it for a profit 6mts later. I've a feeling if this does very close to what it promises it's a winner.

I am with you. This could save a lot of hassle for a lot of people. The ease of use, the notifications, the harvesting etc.
I know a lot of people that could easily afford this and would buy it straight away.
Roughly €1350 delivered to Ireland is doable. I am giving it some serious thought, but i do not think there is much time for thinking. They must be close to the first 1000 already. The only plus side is, i think somebody else will come out with something similar relatively quickly and possibly better or cheaper. That may also be a downside too.

    Edited
There are a few in the side menu. Niwa, Grobo and a few others

    Double edited.
Niwa One Standard is only $375 and shipping soon.
Shipping is $60 so $435 Shipped (Roughly €390 at current exchange rate)

    + €81.90 VAT + €15 handling maybe
