Voluntary Redundancy

Hey folks, would appreciate any advice! So long story short I have opted for voluntary redundancy from work, its not a big amount by any stretch but the area im in seems to be dwindling with not much opportunity for advancement so I said id take it, due totin leave in October

With the money I hope to start a little production company with three others, however im concerned that it will be a slow start generating business.

I shall be renting with my partner who works so I dont expect anytime of help there. I have claimed once before for two weeks in my life ( im 27).

Im just wondering would I be eligible for anytime of payment as I set up the business or am I fending for myself?

Anything helpful would be appreciated.

Apply for jobseekers benefit as soon as you are finished work, once you have that then you can apply immediately for short term enterprise allowance.

One of the best things you can do is a start up your own business course...it is a fiver for three days from your local employment or intreo centre. I worked self employed for 2013 to 2015 and it helped with so many stupid questions! Plus don't forget means you don't have to sign on when applying for STEA plus also gives you tax advice for nothing.
