Problem with navigation unit

    Hi,
Would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction. The wife bought a used 2008 Mazda 6 with a generic aftermarket satellite navigation unit/radio installed. It started going a bit weird when tuning in a radio station, then stopped responding completely. Tried all the obvious things. It wouldn't turn off. Disconnected the battery, reconnected and it stayed the same.
Ended up pressing a reset button. Still did not help, seems like it possibly wiped the internal memory.
    This is the unit.
Now it just stays on all the time, even when ignition off and doesn't respond to any input. If the battery is left disconnected for a long time and then reconnected it stays off. If battery reconnected within a few minutes it comes on immediately and stays on even when ignition turned off again.
Not sure if I need to try flashing it again, but cannot find any information or files online.
    Any advice welcome.
    Thanks.
