    Hi All,

I need to buy a laptop and a projector for presentations (mostly text, not much pictures).

I am vary tight on the budget at the moment so was looking at the bottom of the price lists.

Are any of the Chromebooks worth looking at? I understand that I will be tied into the Google Docs ecosystem but I'm using them anyway.

Are any of the cheaper, Atom or Celeron powered laptops running Windows capable of smoothly displaying with a projector?

My main concerns are reliability, portability and quickness/smoothness of use.

Ports needed are HDMI and VGA (either or, bonus if both).

    Thanks!

A few years ago, I purchased a laptop along these lines, an ASUS X550c. It has HDMI. Cost just below €500 in PC World Liffey Valley Shopping Mall - this store is now closed. The other shortcoming was that it only has TWO usb ports.

    Actually - will pm you.
