    Have a cow-calved the 26-5-17, starting to come in heat, say be a standing this evening! would you chance ai'ing her in the morning... what chances of holding? as is only 28 days calved... have done so before+some have held.. so probably will chance my arm! what's peoples opinions?

    She only has a 30% chance of keeping if AI'D within 40 days. Personally I think they'd need the 6 weeks after calving anyway. If you were trying to pull her calving date back then it might be worth a shot of she's a fertile cow.

    cheers--ah she is that, 10 calvings so far! has held to 1st serve say on 7 of those calvings

    That's an interesting stat.
    She has a 0% of holding to AI if you don't chance a straw in her. I'd bull her.
    Were you going using a very expensive straw?

    If u leave her 3 weeks you'll still bring her back about 6 weeks next year and still give her a bit of a break

    I would agree...they need some bit of a break and lke above you are still pulling her back, if she's that fertile she''' be on again in 19-22 days

    nought was happening with cow that evening-no slim etc! so I didn't do anything! mayb foolish--just was not 100% sure was fully in heat
