Samsung American fridge trips power supply after power cut

    Hi
Just hoping somebody would be able to give me an idea what could be wrong with my fridge.

It's Samsung American fridge that we bought back in 2004. We had absolutely no issues with it until one day we had a power cut (the power was very low for a few minutes). When the power came back, we couldn't turn the fridge back on - it kept tripping the power supply.
    We tried:
    - different socket
    - connected it to a generator
    - waited several weeks for any possible water to dry out.

    None of the above helped.

We got a new fridge since then, but this one is still sitting in the garage and I am wondering if it's worth calling somebody in to take a look at it or if it has served its purpose and we should just get rid of it.
    Any feedback is appreciated.Thanks.

Bin it. It's not worth spending any money on a household appliance older than 10 years imo. You are 13 years into your fridge.

the most likely fault with it is a damaged compressor motor, the compressor is the black pot like device with pipes attached inside the bottom back panel. if you can remove the harness connector block from the compressor and then plug in the fridge and it doesn't trip the compressor is burned out, this would cost c400 to replace, if it still trips it could be the defrost heater element which wouldn't cost too much

Thanks, The Red Ace. I'll give it a go this weekend.
