I recently closed my savings account and a check was issued.  I deposited that check in my PNC bank.  They sent it to their NY Iternational business office in Ny.  When that office was told Bank of Ireland refused to pay it even.  I have emailed Bank of Ireland 4 times and got no reply.  Why did they refuse to pay me my money as it took over a month just to get this far.

Your best bet is to go into your old BoI branch and speak to a manager to get this sorted. Find out why they refused to honor the check, and get them to reissue you a new one if necessary. Bring copies of your last account statement, your closing statement and check receipt, etc.
