Upgrading, basically new build

Hi guys coming back here after a long time absent from PC building. Im looking to upgrade a build ive gotten off here about 5 years ago now. Its pretty out dated at the minute, and when i say upgrade im basically just wondering if there are any parts that could be reused besides HDD and the case.

    Specs are as follows
    ASRock Z77 Pro3 Motherboard
    Intel I5 2500k
    500gb HDD
    DDR3 8gb Corsair vengence RAM
    450w Super Flower PSU
    MSi 660TI GPU.

Im looking to upgrade this hopefully able to keep the PSU at least to try keep cost down. Computer will be used mainly for coding/programming ( going into 2nd year of uni so wil get a bit more advanced) along with some light gaming of newer titles.
    Budget of about €600.
Dont need screen, windows, peripherals or a case.

That's not actually all that bad. Throw an SSD in there and maybe upgrade to an i7 2600K or i7 3770K and you are set. An upgrade to a GTX 1060 wouldn't go amiss either.

This will allow you to stay under budget and also end up with a better machine than you could make for 600.

Really? i thought there would be much better hardware out there now considering this was built 5 years ago. Would the PSU handle a 1060?

Intel CPUs have been holding up quite well in the last few years, as have builds based around them.

As mentioned, a 3770k, GTX1060 or RX 470/570 with an SSD will be sound for another few years.

PCs and stuff are getting less power hungry, not more, so your PSU is sound for wattage.

Yeah, another vote for an i7-3770 (even an i7-2600 would be fine) and a new card. Doesn't even have to be new - GTX970's are selling for about €160 2nd hand now.

GTX660Ti would get you back about €70-80 2nd hand and the i5-2500 about €70-80, versus €120/150 ish for a 2600/3770, and whatever card you chose - GTX1060 seems best fit if buying new.
