Small Claims Court - compensation?

A general question re the Small Claims Court - can one use the process to claim compensation from a business that has failed to provide an adequate and timely service, leaving a consumer extremely disadvantaged as a result, but not actually out any money per se?

We're talking about a one-off service provider, not an ongoing one like phone or Internet, who has admitted they made glaring errors but refuses to offer compensation or redress for same.

Or is the SCC only for losses that can be materially quantified, as in a purchased item that has ceased to function or a service that has not been provided at all?

How can you have losses that can't be materially quantified? Either you have losses or you don't.

Perhaps I phrased this incorrectly. Intangible losses, I mean - as in time, stress, aggravation, disadvantage. Compensation versus actual loss of money. Say, for example, a bespoke suit of clothes not ready for a specified and pre-agreed date/occasion, but still provided, albeit a few days late.
