Budget tablet for reading/netflix/youtube

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has a particular recommendation for a budget friendly tablet? I'm coming from an ipad mini, want to go up in size (probably to the 8inch size, no bigger than 10 or so though for ease of carrying around) but can't afford the pricetag, especially as all I really need it for is reading and annotating PDFs via Dropbox, reading ebooks via Kindle and watching Netflix/youtube occasionally. I had an android phone years ago and hated the OS but it seems to have improved since.

My price is probably max 160, could push to 200 if something amazing jumps out at me. I was looking at some of the Chuwi range (that dual boot into Windows 10/Android) but there's such mixed reviews I dunno if I want to risk it.

i have reccomended kindle for tablets to a few people, everyone who got them is happy.

when you look at value, eg bang for buck, and ease of repair etc, i've rarely seen a better deal.

kindle fire 8" is 80 quid sterling.

Thanks. Hell of a price jump to the 10" model though- £179. Still I get that's a good price for a 10" quality tablet with no big question marks as to quality etc. I need to look more into it about whether dropbox and pdf annotation with adobe will work (it'll be used for reading books and papers for college so those 2 features are a must!)

Its a bit dearer than your budget (€249 in PC World at the moment) but its well worth it, the screen is really beautiful for watching video, its also pretty fast and responsive.

My only complaint is that 16 GB ram is too small, I'm sorry I didn't buy the larger one, although mine has an SD card slot, so I can download a lot of Netflix for when I'm travelling.

Lotta stuff on adverts
For what you want just stick to Android - cant think of any reason to dual boot to Windows!

I got a Galaxy Tab 4 10.1" for about 240 a few years ago - can probably get it a lot less now if you shop around

Nice tablet - word of warning though the Lenovo power connectors have a tendency to become loose - had a couple of the 7" tabs that eventually needed to be repaired, but the repair cost was more than the cost of a new tablet!
