My son has just finished his Leaving Cert. and has applied computing in Waterford as his first choice. his second choice is business degree in waterford. with the deadline for changing his mind coming up he is getting a bit aprehensive about his choice. He has no coding experience which he is worried about. and also he is worried about the seemingly high dropout rate in the applied computing. will he be at a disadvantage having no coding experience.

In short, no. These courses always assume no prior knowledge.
