Are all car dealers in cahoots?

Just wondering if there is a secret society of car dealers. So plenty of Seat dealers out there and tried a few and seem to be giving me the same value for trade in and hard to negotiate a price.
How do their margins work in relation to selling and buying on new and second hand and trade ins
Be interested to know as my first new car in over 10 years and did not seem as difficult last time I bought

If the trade in is old they'll mainly be giving you discount off the new car. Price fixing is illegal and to be honest I don't think it's that prevalent as it's so competitive out there.

    What's the trade in?

If its scrappage deal you going for, then there is pretty much feck all you can do about it. They already give you a good lash off and 0% apr.

I got Seat Ibiza cupra a few weeks ago with scrappage and there was not much wiggle room in there at all. Which I found fair enough, I got 3k scrappage on car, that no one would take or give me 500eu at best.

Golf 08 GT with 50k on clock and Honda Civic 05 with 200k on clock. Seat giving us low but if we are buying higher spec of car get €500 more Kia giving about €9k on a new Kia. Got a quote of dealer in Newry and it was €4.5k. Have to try another Seat dealer to see what they give us and also checking with Hyundai and Peugeot

You should sell the Golf and scrappage the civic
