    Hi,

Can anyone tell me the difference between these two, or if they're the same?

We will have a main contractor who has their own insurance but what level of insurance do we need to take out, if any, for a new build?

    Thanks

I am no sure of the difference but our mortgage lender stipulated we must have Self Build Insurance. Went with Aviva @ €1600 for 12 months.

Bank stipulating course of construction insurance for us. Got a quote two weeks ago for "Unoccupied Course of Construction with Axa - €487". We have a contracter doing the work by the way.

I'd assume it works as follows but someone more knowledgeable should fill you in:

Course of Construction Insurance - Builder/Contractor doing the work.
Self Build Insurance - No contractor and you take on full liability.
