Keepcup

Someone gave me a medium sized "keep cup" for my birthday at the start of April this year. It's a tough plastic mug and lid (no handle but it has a rubber grip around the middle). The plastic smell off it 2.5 months down the road after receiving it is still a real turn off. I still have not used it for any sort of drink, either hot or cold. The idea of smelling plastic any time I take a drink is a real turn off. Also I am rather worried about the effects of warm liquids against the plastic, if you drink from this cup/mug. Also, the lid is not screw on, you just place it on top of the rim of the plastic cup and push it down. How secure is it? Looks like one could easy wet themselves unintentionally, thanks to the lid not being as secure as something screw on. I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same thoughts as me or what are people's experiences of them?
