Anyone know anything about this? Particularly what age or what class does it start at?

    (Does it event exist?).

Usually 2nd class onwards for team extra curricular sports etc.

There's a few races around South Dublin.
Some time in March there's a huge race in St Enda's park. You need to contact the principal of Scoil Mhuire in Whitechurch for an invitation. That's aimed at 4th class plus.

You then have the South Dublin XC series which is run with Dublin county council (I think). The man to contact here is Cecil Johnston in Tallaght AC.
The races are run in different regions throughout Southside, schools get points over 3 races and then top schools from regions are invited to Corcagh park for a 4th race.
Starts in February and finishes end of April.
Aimed at 3rd class plus. It's a great series and its all levels.

On the north side, you have the Brothers XC organised by clonliffe harriers, aimed mainly at secondary school but to kick of proceedings they start with a few primary school races, invitation only, so would need to contact Clonliffe. Aimed at 5th and 6th and race is in October out in Santry Demense.

All races above do a super job, big kudos to the organisers.

    Thanks a lot folks.

    You aware of anything Northside?

Again (and sorry for sounding like a broken record with this) - there are so many primary school kids doing park runs every week, that aren't in clubs.....would be great to have something competitive to transfer into.

Fingal Athletics League also caters for northside primary schools. They run a series of races from 3rd to 6th classes. West Dublin schools races are in Porterstown Park and North Co schools in Newbridge in Donabate. The final day of racing is in Santry where both sets of schools race together. They are really friendly and welcoming. While the emphasis is on participation there would still be some quality runners at the top end given the amount of kids now running parkruns and in my area anyway joining clubs as a result! They also run a marathon kids programme for sixth class children! Hope this helps
