Hi, so this is my first post. Me and my boyfriend hope to some day build a sustainable home and to try and be off grid as much as possible. We are researching now, and I would love if someone can point me in the right direction for Information on sustainable homes in Ireland. Interested in discovering ways to heat , power, water systems etc. We are starting from scratch and doing our research , any help would be great ðŸ˜

There are a few groups on FB such as Eco Village Ireland, Natural Building Ireland, and there's a permaculture gathering in Donegal in August, if you're anywhere near there you'll find like -minded people to talk to. The Centre of Alternative Technology in Wales is probably a good bet too though I've never visited myself.

I think one of the big things about a sustainable house is the site location.
You will need to get the correct location to make sure you are getting the correct sunlight, wind, etc for energy. Making sure the house receives enough natural sunlight to heat the place etc.
