Hi there, i currently live in Swords but looking to trade up to a bigger house. We're considering Elmwood, really lovely quiet road. But it seems to be between 2 areas that we dont know very well that seem to have a bad reputation, Glasmore and Abbeylea.
Can anyone set our mind at ease or indeed confirm that we should possibly have concerns?
    Thank you

I could be wrong but nowadays I don't think these areas are as bad as they'd have been said to be 'back in the day'. You get more of a mix of people nowadays and the council estates aren't the ghettoes they once were, thankfully. Also, there are good and bad everywhere.
Elmwood is lovely as you say, and I know people who have lived there happily for decades.

It's not in a great spot to be honest, personally I wouldn't buy there.

The whole area is generally fairly settled these days. Fair few houses in those estates are in private ownership now. I'm from Elmwood and its a very quiet mature estate. Great location close to schools, shops, transport.
