Accenture Offer.. should I take it or negotiate a better deal?

I'm a web developer with 2-3 years experience coming from a role on 32k to being offer a job with Accenture on 40k. It's for a Software Developer Senior Analyst, and I've no idea if that's good or bad money for the experience I have.

Would anyone else be able to let me know if this is good/bad and/or if they've heard of similar offers from this company?

It's a bad offer, you can easily do better in Dublin. If it's 40k outside Dublin then that may be different.

Should 3 years not even closer to 50K?

I would be based in Dublin, but don't have much information on what the salaries in somewhere like Accenture *should* be..?

Well it's more the 2 side of 3 years, so maybe that's why it's that bit lower.

Overall, would it be worth trying to negotiate the offer and has anyone any advise on how to go about that?

No idea. I'm just finished year 3 of CS.

I'm going into Web dev, so can I ask you what the industry is like atm?

    Maybe check their Glassdoor:

    https://www.glassdoor.ie/Reviews/Accenture-Reviews-E4138.htm

They have 41k salary reports from staff and you can filter by location, role etc.

40k seems very low as does the 32k you are currently on. I would definitely push for more. Market for devs in Dublin is very good so apply for a few places and you'll get much better offers. If you are any good and wanted to try some contracting you could get double that

I was working doing IT with a non-IT team/group so that's why I've been on lower money. I might push for a bit more, but contracting work is a little too unstable for me as I'd prefer the security that should come with working in a big firm

    Hi!

Really sorry, I know this is not directly linked to this thread. My question is just about the Graduate Programme. Does anyone know if you have a 2.1 in your Undergrad Degree but get a 2.2 in your Masters Degree, will Accenture Consulting Graduate Programme accept the 2.2 Masters Degree grade? My UnderGrad is very relevant to the Job, Commerce with French.

    Thanks a mill :-)

Best of luck with your salary negotiation, I definitely think you can get more than what they are offering. Just had a look on glassdoor and their data seems to be out of date as they have similarly low rates for software engineers at accenture.

I know its in a different market but have a read about how this entry level engineer negotiated himself a fantastic starting salary at airbnb - http://haseebq.com/farewell-app-academy-hello-airbnb-part-i/

Do yourself a favor and avoid Accenture. It's a real rat race. You'll be treated like sh*t as most people are total c*nts to each other as they all vie to get onto the most desirable projects. They literally encourage this too by gauging your performance not on your own merits/metrics but against your peers who could be on totally different projects and different experience levels. Insane amount of internal politics as well, it's all about who you know rather than what you know. You'll most likely be asked(ordered) to work on projects you have no experience in and don't want to work in. I could go on. If at all possible I'd recommend holding out and trying to get something better. If your desperate to get out of your current role then maybe go for it, you could look around again after a while.
