I'm one of those Dental phobia dopes. It's a weird one for me because I generally have a good pain threshold and when I'm actually getting the work done I am mostly fine, but I have to admit also that the experiences I have had with dentists over the years has not been great.

It started with some terrible experiences as a kid where I had to have multiple extractions and the teeth had to be broken pretty much as they couldn't be pulled out. I remember them explaining to my parents at the time that my roots were ridiculous. This was confirmed when I had to get xrays for a root canal later in life and the dentist eventually found where the root ended up near my eye socket.

A combination of the folks not having the money to get me back to a dentist and me in my young adult years dodging the dentist for a long time meant that when I finally hit up the dentist out of necessity at 28 years of age I had a fair few issues that need sorting:

    1. I had to get 6 fillings and a root canal done, but no crown (I am not sure why).
    2. I also had an upper baby canine tooth that fell out in my late 20's leaving a gap. The dentist informed me that at my age the chances of the adult canine tooth coming through were slim but I had various surgical options available.
    3. I never got a crown after the above root canal was done and the tooth has since broken.
    4. The upper canine tooth has pushed through my palate and is partially behind my lateral incisor.

This resulted in me going back to my dentist dodging ways. I'm in my mid-30's now and the above issues need sorting before I cause myself even more hassle. I won't be going back to the dentist that did the above work and have since moved to the other side of Dublin.

I am genuinely looking for an amazing dentist in Dublin (I know everyone on here generally is) but any help or pointers would be appreciated.

P.S. Sorry for the long waffley post. :)
