Folks, I recently bought a used Certina DS-4 small second automatic C022428A for around €150. Upon receipt of the watch I found that it doesn't run properly - it feels as if the main spring is fully wound, the rotor spins but it looks like it's working against resistance. It runs for a few seconds then stops. Rotating the rotor or giving it a few winds gets it going again for a few seconds and then it stops again.

The seller has agreed to a refund, but it's such a lovely watch and the price was so good I was wondering if it would be worth looking into getting a quote to get it fixed instead.

    Thoughts please?

Sometimes it does not make economic sense to get a watch repaired.
But if you love it enough then get quotes. See if the seller will contribute to the cost of repair?
Or, put emotion aside, return the watch and get some eBay alerts set up.
