Trouble removing an EI141 Smoke Alarm

My EI141 Smoke Alarm started chirping today, so tried to remove it to change the backup battery. I checked out a couple of guides on youtube, and it all seemed very straight forward

I followed the steps recommended, pushed a small flathead screwdriver into the hole. It appeared a catch was moved up, but I can't get the alarm to budge. There is no external obstruction, so clearly what I was doing has not released the catch the way it should be. Any ideas?

Put screw driver and with small amount of force push away and up at the same time.

I managed to get it in the end, had to use the base for leverage, needed a decent amount of force to get off. thanks for replying :)
