Getting into Trinity as a Mature Student?

I'm curious, how did people find applying to Trinity as a mature student, as in regards to getting offers, interviews, rejections etc?

Is Trinity easier or harder to get into then other institutions? Did you get it on your first go?

Did people get offered some of their course choices and not others? E.g not getting their first choice.

Did people get into other colleges and not Trinity, or vice versa?

    Thanks.

Getting in as a mature student is going to be judged on the individual circumstances.

I applied as a mature student and got in. A person I know didn't get in to the same course as me, but got offered a place in Oxford in the UK for a similar course.

Individual cases differ, how you do on the interview on the day differs..I dont think its as easy as saying a is easier than b etc.

If you demonstrate passion and drive for the area of study, that's half the battle for anywhere.

I applied two separate years, to 4 different courses. I was interviewed each time (by a panel from the appropriate department) and was offered a place on every course I applied to. (I wasn't eventually able to attend the first time I applied, hence applying again later.) Each time I applied to other universities as well, some of whom interviewed me and offered me a place, some of whom offered me a place without interview, and some of whom just rejected me without interview. TCD was my first choice, so I didn't really think much of my down-list choices who didn't accept me.

My wife was accepted as a mature student to TCD as well, without interview, to her first choice course. I think she was also accepted to another of her course choices, with an interview. Same as me, she applied to other universities, with similar results.

I agree with the above poster: what they want you to demonstrate is passion for the subject, an understanding of what an undertaking doing an undergrad degree as a mature student will be, and an ability to academically keep up.
