    Is there anyway that grass that is cut down can be tested for nitrogen?

    Taste test possibly. Not as accurate as the scientists but it's good enough out on the sticks :D

    Yeah, we normally cut a piece, freeze it overnight and carry it to the local Teagasc office to do a nitrates and sugars test on it. If the N is high, wilting and adding molasses to the sward is what we normally end up doing.

    Edit: I think you can get test sticks to do the test yourself but I have never used them.

    In this heat unless you put two bags of urea on it last week ted it and stop worrying.
