    How much do adult educators generally make? Whats a starting salary and what can it go up?

    Same as other types of teaching. If you have ten hours a week you get paid for ten hours a week. If you have three hours a week you get paid for three hours.

    It takes over 20 years to get to the top of the scale.

    Unfortunately a lot of etbs don't recognise adult educators as teachers so they get away with paying the unqualified rate (~41ph class contact) with no increments, salary scale, sickpay in some cases etc.
    This is especially the case in level 2 to level 4
    Actually that rate is reduced as holiday pay is taken out 8%. You obviously get that back at breaks. But 8% is only about 4 weeks of you're full time which covers Easter, Xmas, mid terms so you're unemployed over the summer with no income
