    Hey everyone,

    Desperately needing advice.
I have a ewe and it's her first time lambing. Approximately this time last year she had a mild case of facial excema, and thinking back on it we shouldn't of put her in lamb. About 5 days ago we noticed a thick brownish red discharge coming from her vagina. It doesn't smell. She's due to give birth between July to September at the latest. She's happy as, eating pellets, hay and grass and does not appear sick at all. I am thinking that she's had/having an abortion however I am unsure. Would love to hear everyone's opinions.

    Will call vet on Monday.
    Thanks.

Only advice is isolate her from rest of flock in case she spreads problem to other sheep

there's nothing can be done for the ewe at this stage

Sounds like she aborted,i had one like that that put out a red gel type stuff after she got a bad knock in the abdomen, next morning she lambed the dead lamb 2 weeks early.Did your ewe get any knock or bang that you know off
