Free charge point installation question

Should be getting the charge point installed fairly soon as the new car should arrive early July, i hear the units supplied are 16A but can be flashed to 32A.
Q - do i buy a different cable that runs from the supply that can handle the extra current and just give it to the installer to use instead of the supplied cable?
If so where do i buy the cable? and what is it called?

(The cable run length will be fairly short as the car will be parked at the side of the house where the supply happens to be, i think there is a breaker or something that needs installing as well but can't see them installing that so ill probably leave that for a later date before i flash the unit...)

The cable you need is 6 sq. If it's a long run use 10 sq.
If its outside you need SWA, which is steel covered cable. I think some posters, provided the cable to the installer. Others got him to supply and install it, I think.

Anything over 20M use 10sq. If any of the run is external, best use SWA (armoured).

it should only be about 3 meters and the charge point will be on the opposite side of the wall where the supply is, do they normally route the cable inside the wall for this, am i better to get armored just in case? p.s where do you buy this type of cable ? ! (sorry for all the questions!! :) )

He'll drill straight through the wall. I'd check with him when you have contact, as to whether he would put in the heavier cable. Might give him a few euro. That would be the simplest. He is only putting in 6 sq instead of 4 sq.
Any electrical supplies, would have the cable.
You, don't need SWA, from your description.
