Just received a call from +353 (81) 617 0615 stating I left my number and insurance details on a car who I apparently hit.

I most definitely didn't as I have never had an accident in 6 years of motoring. In the call the male voice stated I left my insurance details, number and registration number and that I was denying hitting there car and also saying thank you I will get a new car out of this.

Not sure what this is about but would like to know whether anybody else has experienced this and to be aware of this

Sounds like the person who left the details has bad hand writing, or the twerp who called you misdialled, and you got the call instead of the person who left the note

I got my car valeted by foreign nationals today and they requested my phone number for special offers I'm 99% sure it is related, they are based 50 metres away from my workplace so I will be having a word Monday morning for sure

    Possibly 87?
    Sounds well dodgy.
No similar number is appearing in the usual 'who is this scammer' pages.

Did they indicate they knew anything about you, type of car etc.?

Someone with a mental age of 12, if it was done on me and I knew who did it I would place their mobile number on every toilet door in the country.

No nothing I asked a few times to state my registration and from the incoherence got the impression it could have been a recording

It could have been a premium rate scam. I've seen these where the number is a foreign premium rate number, are you on bill Pay?

I take it there was no interaction between the caller and yourself, these normally work on a recording with a few spaces for your anticipated responses, the call is then recorded and your "mate" can call a premium number to hear it.

That is the way it seemed after the second pause I realised it wasnt a genuine call as the tone of voice did not change with my response, I hope they enjoyed it anyway whoever was listening said I don't even drive 😆 Cheers
