Mature student - get leaving cert equivalent

    Hi all,

My fiancee never got her leaving cert when she had a chance to do it.
She applied for a job, they wanted her, but because she never passed her leaving cert, she didn't get the job. Because of that, she wants to get papers done, so that she can change her current job for something better.

Now we were reading around what to do in her situation - she is currently 30. What we found is that QQI major awards counts as an equivalent of leaving cert. She doesn't want to do full leaving cert, as she is working 9-5, so she cannot attend classes. I know that some collages do evening classes, but we thought that QQI could be a better way of going about it - open collage route. Does anyone have any experience in this field? Any advice is much appreciated. We're based in Cork.
