Hannigan's Butcher in Applewood

    Shop has been closed for over a week now, does anyone know if they have closed for good?

    They were a great local butcher, always had good deals, quality meats and the best sausages around.

    They actually closed just after Easter. It's a real shame.

    Oh no! I got my turkey and ham there last Christmas and they were the best I'd had in years. That's such a shame.

    Aye they shut down, don't know why, they did good business and the Eurospar's meat selection is crap so they had no real local competition.

    Real shame. We used get all our meat in there as it was good quality and the staff were so friendly.
    They did good business so it must have been the high rent.

    There used to be a Café in Applewood which was terrific, Adams Apple.
    It was packed every weekend and lunchtime but it still closed
    I remember chatting to the guy who ran it the week before it closed and he was saying the rent was just too high. There's a new café there now but it's not great.

    I believe Adams Apple closed closed for reasons not related to rent.
    Hannigans was going steadily downhill quality wise for a good while now

    Adams Apple was lovely, but the new one is lovely too in my opinion.

    I find the new one ( Look Mam No Hand's) Fantastic , love their food .
